Constable Teina

Today I made a presentation about our 3 lessons with Constable Teina I have learnt a lot but I also leanrt about our laws which is important to know about because when you outside in the world and you don't what your doing for example if your going to the shops with your friend and she or he steals something and you didn't know but even if she or he took something you were there with them and you also get into trouble too.

So I think that I really learnt a lot.

Te Tuhi

Matariki

WALT: summarise a text

Today I made a presentaion about Matariki and the seven star cluster in the sky.
Today I read two stories
1. Story was about `The eyes of Tawhirimatea'
2. Story was about `The seven fish of Matariki'
Today I put together what I know from the story into this presentation.

• This advertisement is selling 1$ fries from "Checkers Crazy Foods!!"
• It is trying to persuade me to buy this product by trying to make it fun by being competitive

From this I learnt nothing but I think that they trying to presuade us to buy 1$ chips to see who can eat the most 1$ chips.

Persuasive Writing

Title: Should Children spend more time at school?

I think that children should spend more time at school, 2 reasons why children should spend more time at school

1. So that they can learn more then what they already know
2. So next year they can be ready for new stuff
3. Extra Curricula

And so they can get more credit in their learning

And because of these reasons we both are “FOR”.

Some believe that spending more time at school is boring just because they want to have more fun then just doing work,

For example kids these days don’t do much work because all they think about is giving up and having more fun than learning more.

But on the other hand I think that because children don’t know much I think that’s why children should spend more time at school or teacher's could just give children homework everyday.

Obviously it is true that children just think about free time instead of focusing on their work.

For example kids Copy+Paste information from the internet so then they can finish and have

free time but they don’t even know what the information means

because they don’t focus on work.

So I think that children should more time reading books.

 

I think that we should spend more time at school because we can have more time to do fun things as well like Art,P.E and all those can of things.

So in conclusion I think that children should spend more time at school because of these three reasons, I really hope you understand our reasons why children should spend more time at school.

Temperature

Today Room 7 was learning about measuring Temperature with the Thermometer

(Thermo which means heat and Meter as in Measuring)

Today we measured the temperature of the heater which was

(28.5*C- this C means celcuis so it would be 28.5* celcius and here is some more things we measured.

Classroom- 22.5*C

Fridge- 11.5*C

Freezer- 8.5*C.

Should F.S be allowed in school???

Title: __should animals be kept in zoo’s??__

Introduction:

I feel that F.S(fidget spinners) should be allowed in class.

First paragraph:

O	In my opinion is that we should have F.S because it can help with people who get stress.
R	Some believe that having F.S is a bad thing, well I think not because it helps you when you are stressed a lot even with work.
E	For Example if your angry or don’t what to do you have the F.S to fidget with, some say it distracts others but clearly if it distracts others, others would get annoyed and tell them to stop but instead others start to play with it as well.
O	So I feel that F.S should be allowed.

Second paragraph:

O	I really think that F.S should be allowed because it can help when you're angry.
R	Another reason, if you're angry or if someone make you angry you can fidget with the F.S, it will calm you down.
E	Example, if someone says something mean about you or they put you down, F.S can calm you down.
O	I think that F.S should be allowed.

Third paragraph:

O	My final opinion is that F.S should be allowed because it not only helps you in school but it helps outside to like at the doctors.
R	In this situation I think that when you go to the doctors and you're nervous you have your parents and also the F.S to play with.
E	Example F.S can distract you like at the doctors you can fidget with the F.S and it distracts you from knowing that you're at the doctors.
O	I surely hope you see my point of should F.S be allowed in school??

Conclusion:

Summarise the 3 ideas	We should be allowed F.S inside class, school and anywhere. I really hope you understand my reasons of should F.S be allowed in school.
Recommendations or reflections	I think that some of yous might be against and I respect that but I feel that I have to go for F.S should be allowed.

Should animals be kept in zoos???

Title: __should animals be kept in zoo’s??__

Introduction:

Surely in this situation I think that animals should be kept in zoos because it is safer for both us and animals.

First paragraph:

O	In my opinion I think that it is safer for both us and animals.
R	Some believe that animals will be lonely in the zoos on the other hand animals also can communicate with other animals.
E	For Example instead of the animals playing by themselves and doing everything alone they have a friend inside to communicate with.
O	So I feel that animals should be kept in zoos.

Second paragraph:

O	I really think that animals should be kept in zoos because also scientist also need to study them.
R	Another reason, because if scientist don’t study animals it might dangerous and we won’t know if it’s safe.
E	Example, we won’t know if it's safe because scientist don’t study animals any more.
O	I think what’s best is that animals should be kept in zoos.

Third paragraph:

O	My final opinion is that it also could be safer for other animals too.
R	In this situation I think that also animals can eat other species of animals so we have a zoo to separate them both and it will be safer.
E	Example if an animal doesn't have any food it goes and hunts for other animals to eat.
O	I surely hope you see my point of should animals be kept in zoos.

Conclusion:

Summarise the 3 ideas	We should have animals in zoos because it is safer for everyone and every animal. I really hope you understand my reasons of animals should be kept in zoos.
Recommendations or reflections	I think that some of yous might be against and I respect that but I feel that I have to go for animals should be kept in zoos.

Should cellphones be allowed in school?

Title: __CellPhones In School.__ 

Introduction: Surely in this situation I think that cellphones should be allowed in school. I am For because I feel that students should be allowed to have phones (for emergencies, Communication and for learning.) I have many reasons why we should be allowed phones in school. 

 First paragraph: 

 O: In my opinion I think that we should have cell phones in school because sometimes it can help you with learning but on the other hand it can also distract you from your learning and can keep you behind from others in learning. 

 R: Some believe that cellphones can help you cheat during your test, on the other hand I think that it can help you by using calculator not in test but when you really need to. 

E :For Example if your finished and your checking others work you can use calculate the answer to check if it’s right. 

O: So I feel that we should be allowed cellphones in school. 

 Second paragraph: 

 O: I think that what's best for us is what my opinion is in my introduction. 

 R :Another reason, what if you have an emergency or you forgot something at home? So during that situation I think that we should have our phones then, But I also feel that we shouldn’t have phones during class. 

E: Example, like if your class is going on a trip to the pools and you forgot to bring your togs and change of clothes. Also I think that teachers would ask for any phones before test or learning. 

O: I think what’s best is that we have phones and during learning time we should hand over our phones to the teacher or hand it in into the office. 

 Third paragraph: 

 O: My final opinion is that we should have phones I know it can distract you during learning but that’s why we give it to the teacher or office until the end of the day. 

R: In this situation I think that after all this debate and questioning, should cell phones be allowed in school? My answer is yes because of my other reasons and examples and because Well we wouldn’t use our phones for Cyberbullying because here at TPS we have CyberSmart which we learn not to use phones or any other technology for Cyberbullying. We learn to use our technology wisely. 

 E: We should not use our phones for Cyberbullying because it is not the right thing to do, children should not have phones if they're not mature enough to have a phone. 

 O: I surely hope you see my point of should we have phone in school. 

 Conclusion: 

 Summarise the 3 ideas: We should have phones only for emergencies, learning and safety. I really hope you understand my reasons on should cell phones be allowed in school? We would not use any technology for Cyberbullying for we have CyberSmart at TPS. 

Recommendations or reflections: I feel that you are against and I understand. I’m sure you see my point of this situation. I really enjoyed this debate I really am excited and I am happy that we are discussing this question as a whole class.
